I see I was correct. The so-called "moderates" came together with the extremists to elect an extremist neck-deep in insurrectionist activities. I think we would be naive at this point to imagine them doing anything worthwhile in the future.

I think Buzz is entirely too optimistic. The notion that the "moderate" Republicans will reach across to form some sort of coalition so that the House can function is probably a pipe dream. It would be based on the assumption that (a) there are "moderate" Republicans who actually give a crap about a working government and (b) that they can actually acknowledge and learn from their mistakes and course correct. The former is highly debatable, but the latter we have most definitely seen in practice for decades now. They absolutely refuse to course correct.

The song by Firefall you featured – is this the platinum selling rock band from the '70s, Firefall? The band with songs like "Just Remember I Love You", "You Are The Woman", and "Strange Way"? One of the only bands to consistently feature a flute outside of Jethro Tull? Aren't you kind of stretching the definition of "indie music"?

Oklahoma ran out of cheap oil and promptly went to hell. Absolutely nothing to do with NAFTA. And religion was always insane there. Likely correlated to real crimes against Native Americans there. Big crime-->racist religious ideology. This is why I believe Liz Warren. Because that's the kind of place OK is.

The indictment is a True Crime Story in four parts (hat tip = Driftglass)
1) A gang shows up at the bank they intend to rob (just as the audit is starting) and they say, "The money belongs to us - hand it over."
Bank manager tells them to fuck off.

2) The gang members dress up like bank employees and try to convince the manager to take their IOU, and hand over about 15% of the money so they can "count" it.
Bank manager tells them to fuck off.

3) Gang members get several meetings with the head teller and try to pressure him into postponing the audit long enough to let the gang figure out another way to steal the money.
Head teller tells them to fuck off.

4) Gang members get a crowd together at city park, whip 'em into a rich creamy lather, and send them to ransack the bank.
